Home Sweet Home

After 23 days in the NICU at Cardinal Glennon Children's Hospital, it is quite a blessing to be at home. I do miss all the nurses and attention that Allie received. The nurses and doctors were amazing and really showed they cared and loved Allie. Since Allie has done well off of the special heart medication (PGE) she has been able to come home now, without another procedure. However, her road to recovery is not over just yet. She has a new best friend and that is Dr. Trivedi, her cardiologist. We love her!!!!! We will be seeing Dr. Trivedi on a pretty regular basis for following up on Allie's heart and how it grows and pumps blood to her lungs. Now it is starting to set in that we are parents and responsible for this beautiful, sweet, innocent angel.





Reading to Allie for the first time from the book "A Girl and Her Gator" given to her by her Cassville Cousins. My Uncle Charles gave her the nickname Allie-Gator, and we love that!!


Allie with all of her gators. Uncle Gene and Aunt Heather were the first to get her an alligator for her namesake.


Allie loves to hear Grandma Gloria. She cooed back at Grandma that day.


Granny Barb got to know Allie really well. Granny stayed with Allie for 2 1/2 weeks while she was in the hospital.


Nurse Mary was the best. She put the red paint on her foot for the footprint board.





The kids that get to go home get to put their footprint on the board the day they go home.

Only one wire to check oxygenation, and we don't have to have it on all the time. We are so glad to be home.
