We saw her cardiologist on Monday and she seems to be pleased with her progress. Allie is growing quite well, and as of today weighs in at 9 lbs. 7 oz. and is 22 1/4 inches long. Today was the last day from her home nurse visit. We enjoyed having the nurse come by, she would weigh her, listen to her heart and lungs, and answer any questions we had. We will be seeing her cardiologist on a monthly basis for now to check her blood flow in her heart. Her pulmonary valve is still narrow, but she has adequate flow to her lungs, with some regurgitation. Her oxygenation seems to keep improving. She is on 3 medications, 3 times a day, and a multivitamin. She eats about every 3 hours and sleeps well in between. All of her doctors and nurses strongly recommend that we not take her out anywhere and limit visitors at least until Flu and RSV season is over. If Allie were to get sick, she would not be able to fight it as well as a newborn without a heart defect. As much as I would love to show her off, I know that we cannot risk getting her sick by any means. Daddy has been the infection control department, and is in charge of visitation and outing procedures. He has been such a wonderful father and husband. Since we have been home, he has been providing my every meal, doing laundry, cleaning the house, and running multiple errands. I'm so glad he has been able to take off of work for so long, and am dreading when he has to go back.
We are so blessed to have Allie and love her so much, words cannot even express.
This was the first bath. Allie was about 3 weeks old.
This was her first outing to the pediatrician's office.
This was an attempt for her 1 month photo shoot!
My sweet angel!
She is 5 weeks old here. She is so active and alert!
She loves to talk!
She loves to sleep on Mommy and Daddy's laps.
She can hold her head up pretty well during tummy time.
She has so many different expressions. I love it!
She'll be smiling on purpose soon!
